Does anyone have any experience with any of the Online/Smartphone Songbook Hosting Services
listed on
"http://karaokescene.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=22248"

Or are there any other suggestions? We have about 21k songs (Duplicates) And was wondering if there was a feature they can use on their phone like (Ctrl +F) Find.

The best choice might be SongbookDB because it is a standalone as well as integrated into the programs of KJams, Hoster and one other software. The OpenKJ is tied to OpenKJ itself but it's advantage is that both are free while SongbookDB costs money during the month. Another program that has a free phone app/kiosk is Siglos Karaoke Professional and that comes with the hosting software with no extra charge. Disadvantage, unless the host computer is using the internet, singers have to make a choice between the remote request system and social media due to having to connect to the host's Wi-Fi network and what happens if all the connections to that network has been reached? Does it knock the host computer off the network.

the "disadvantage" you mention is identical for any remote request software.

No it's not. SongbookDB does not require the singer to literally be connected to the same network like Siglos does. One can submit a request using just the data connection on their phone. Neither SongbookDB, Songbooks Online or even OpenKJ have to use the same named network and ip location address to locate the proper host computer. Those actually handle it totally by Songbook name. When I was using Compuhost and Songbooks Online, all a singer had to put into their app to find me is DannyG. I didn't have to give them what network that I was on and the ip address.

if the host computer is not using the internet, none of those work.

Except Siglos. As long as there's a WiFi connection, Siglos can receive requests. Local hosting is it's own little internet of itself. Compuhost's original kiosk operated this way, as did JustKaraoke.

I created one that scans your files and creates a list of unique titles.
It is not necessary to sign in. You just point your own URL to the list.
It is in beta trial mode and I've been using it for a few months now.
It is updated on the fly (manually) so that if you grab a song for a singer, you can have it in your list before the singer sings it.

I designed it to work on iPads and mobile devices. It is search as you type and browse alphabetically at 200 per "page". Find your song, tap on the title and a pop-up displays for you to show the karaoke host your request.

http://ebookk.pro

Contact me for a trial key if interested.

*I am considering adding an import feature for .csv files for hosts whose files are not named in the standard formats.

I never add a sing that I buy on the fly when I download it. I don't allow repeats at my show and I don't want someone to submit it after I put it in for the person who asked me to get it. For that night it's their song. Once it gets into the database and onto the remote request system and into my books it's fair game for first come first served.

Good for you Danny.

This is not a problem for me.

I stopped using remote request systems for many reasons, including that one.
