Being a hometheater guy, most of my component are for movies and some music listening. Got the karaoke bug a while ago besides i got abig karaoke dvd collection.


Here is my system

Receiver: Denon 3802 (110w x 6)
Mixer: Mackie 1202 Pro
FX: Lexicon MX 100
Mic: wired Shure SM58S
DVD player: sony dvp-cx985v 400 disc changer

I have a setup of Energy Take 2 speakers and sub setup but i replace the front pair by a pair of JBL S310.

The setup works great for my movies and music so far but not karaoke.

I'm looking to buy a pair of karaoke speaker. I think i will get a pair of BMB CS-450V for $250. I think it's a good deal but i haven't seen anyone here talking about it. From what i read online, BMB is best for karaoke. here is its spec from acekaraoke.com site

Please advise me about those bmb 450v...or should i buy carvin, pervey, mackie.

Yeah your speakers now are designed for music & movies, not live music (which karaoke is partly). Your reciever may have part blame as well, but should work for the most part. Karaoke speakers are just overpriced speakers. They aren't really designed well & usually have cheap components. Look into something a little more pro. BMB is a joke.
Check into Peavey, Carvin, JBL, Yamaha from your favorite music store (I would give links to some options but they'd be pulled off probably before you get to see them).

thanks, i can always sell my pair of jbl s310 and get another pair. please advise me of what price range i should look into, the speaker should be used to watch movies too.

as for the receiver denon 3802...why you blame it...what other model can i replace it...thanks...

i'm thinking about a pair of peavey pr-15 running for $350. Can i use my denon 3802 receiver or i have to uy a power amp for karaoke only...what kind of compact power amp to drive those pr-15. thanks

Definately NOT!.. get a Class "A' Amplifier designed for pro audio.. and Speakers that will take the use and abuse.. like JBL, or even Peavey's which has mysteriously appeared at the Audio retailer that I purchase from... and like alot of it too...

But the home stuff won't last in the clubs. The "gucci audiophile" stuff may be great for at home.. but not in the clubs.

why not get a pair of powerd speakers i have mackey powred 450 thet sound great that and a mixer and your set what do you guys think . they are a little pricey but sound great eazy set up

hey, i'm set on buying a pair of carvin 1502. What is the best afford power amp i can get for those pair. I am ok with used power amp. as long as it not heavy, big cause my rack is kinda full now.

Keep it passive with the Crown K2 it seems to work for alot of applications extremely well, thats we have been seeing lately.. and it's lightweight and very efficient and comes with a 3 year warrenty.

We seem to like them alot here.. I haven't had a bad crown amp yet..

are you trying to break my bank or what? while crown k2 is sure a great one...what price range are you talking aout? i saw several used on ebay for ever 500...
can you recommend one for less?

Ya know how many credit card numbers got ripped off last month off of
e-bay??? that's why.. I don recommend going there.. I apologise to those advertisers who sell on E-bay.. but there is an article out on how bad
e-bay got burned last month... I think they need to see it. if they haven't seen it already.

I will try to get it to Phill if I can find it again.

i realize how dangerous ebay can be...that's the last place to go if all else fails.

Anyway, remember this power amp is for home use only...small room 12x10x20.....so not a lot of power needed here.

I just want to make sure the power amp i buy can provide enough juice for that pair of carvin 1502

I already answered on the other thread, but those Carvins will sound their best with power behind them, lower power amps will tend to distort them. The K2 is a great amp but on the pricey side for basic home use. You won't get a GOOD amp for under $400 though.
