E-mail me.. i need to find out a few things first.. you didn't really tell me much about your style other than the genra you sing.. I'm an endorsed vocalist.. but i compare microphones almost weekly.. and i can tell you the "honest truth" based upon what you wanna sound like and what you really sing like.

I'm a great fan of the Beyer M700 and I want another one (Brian) and am prepared to pay the price. Lots of top, hardly any middle and great extended bass. Suits me down to the ground!

Well for hard rock, heavy metal etc., the best one you can get is one that's broken. Naw   Just kidding, but couldn't pass up the opportunity to get that in.

I prefer the Shure SM58 or Beta58 & I sing the harder stuff as well although it works for the softer stuff too. These are pretty much the industry standard for price & reliability. Although your voice may dictate otherwise. BEST recommendation would be to go to your local music store & compare them personally. Mic choice can become personal decision & not something people can really recommend because the sound may not be to your liking after you buy it because someone else says it's the greatest. Go with your ears & what sounds good to you!!!

I gave him a list of 8 well known mics.. all coming in around his price range or less.. and offered to help him. get one at a discount.

Barry one was a beyer.. not a 700 but a classic.. M-88 TG they are blowing them out here. he wants one that will last a while..
Like Timex that will "Take a licking and keep on ticking"

It scares me to say that.. Now Southwest airlines won't let me carry om
my mic bag anymore after that one!
